Colin Cowherd: Browns Will Never Be 'Special' With Baker Mayfield at QB

Colin Cowherd: “What are the Browns? Go back and look at Cleveland's schedule. They have played three really good teams this year: New England blew them out, Arizona blew them out, and they played a perfect half against Kansas City and lost. Cleveland is not that good and they’re just not special. Last night Nick Mullens completed 67% of his throws with a roster riddled with COVID; Baker Mayfield has completed 63% of his throws all year. Mullens’ passer rating was 90, that’s Baker’s. He went 1 touchdown/no picks, that’s what Baker averages. If you look at Baker’s average start with Keenum’s one start, and Mullens’ one start it’s the same damn guy. Baker's a LITTLE better, and by a little I mean a LITTLE. All kind of the same size, all kind of overlooked, all kind of marginally athletic, all ‘guys’. You want to get special Cleveland? Do what the Chargers did, you gotta get a special quarterback. Chargers think they have a special quarterback, Chicago thinks they have a special quarterback, New England does…Tampa Bay was just a .500 team and then they got Tommy and they won a Super Bowl. Kansas City was pretty good with Alex Smith and then they got a Super Bowl [with Patrick Mahomes]. You wanna be special? You better get ‘special’ at the most important decision.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks the middling Cleveland Browns need to get rid of Baker Mayfield if they ever want to get serious about contending for an AFC championship.
